Dr Jeff Amos – Principal Dentist

BDS (Manchester) – GDC No. 53638
Clinical Lead, The Clinic – Mercury Removal Centre
Dr Jeff Amos qualified from the University of Manchester in 1979 and has been practising dentistry in central Brighton since 1982. With over four decades of clinical experience, he treats patients locally and from across the UK. His clinical philosophy encompasses biological dentistry, SMART mercury amalgam removal, and comprehensive restorative care. Jeff has been mercury-free since 1992 and is SMART-certified for the safe removal of existing amalgam fillings in accordance with those recognised protocols.
He is one of a small number of UK dentists accredited by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), reflecting additional training in biological and biocompatible dentistry principles.
Under his clinical leadership, The Clinic has also been designated a Centre of Excellence for Guided Biofilm Therapy — an advanced professional cleaning protocol designed to support periodontal and holistic health.
Dr Amos combines IAOMY-recognised clinical protocols with careful restorative planning, ensuring that treatment decisions are tailored to each patient’s oral health, function and long-term outcomes.
Outside dentistry, he has a longstanding interest in modern art, holding both Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Art History. He also enjoys playing the piano and guitar, and is a classic car enthusiast.
