Veneers
Veneering is a marvellous technique that will improve both your smile and your general facial appearance. It can be used to treat discoloured, worn or chipped teeth and can correct dental crookedness and spacing without the need for orthodontics. Veneers can also lengthen teeth and so create a more aesthetically pleasing smile.
A veneer is a very thin facing of porcelain or composite plastic that is bonded to the outer surface of the front teeth. A small amount of work is usually required to prepare the tooth for veneering, but this is minimal compared with that required for a crown. Veneers also have the advantages of greater translucency, which imparts a more natural, aesthetic look, and of elimination of the 'dark line' sometimes seen at the top of older crowns.
The appearance of veneers and crowns can be spoilt by the presence of an uneven gum line, which impairs the aesthetic result. An experienced oral surgeon, Dr. Jeff Amos utilises the latest laser technology to correct such problems before treatment starts.
