Tooth Coloured Fillings
Nowadays, many people are unhappy with both the potential danger and the unsatisfactory appearance of traditional mercury fillings. The World Health Organisation has stated that there is no safe dose of mercury because it is poisonous at any level, and that the largest intake of the substance within the general public is from mercury amalgam fillings. Use of mercury filling material has been abolished completely in Norway, Denmark and Sweden and during pregnancy in the UK, and it is inevitable that it will eventually be outlawed throughout the European Union.
The Clinic was one of the first mercury-free practices in Brighton and, as a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, Dr. Jeff Amos observes the necessary protective protocols when removing old mercury fillings. The new, non-toxic, tooth-coloured fillings are a durable substitute for many ugly metallic fillings and are, therefore, the modern treatment of choice for most patients.
